Arsenal 4-4 Spurs: Our Turning Point!

October 30th, 2008 Jaymes 1 comment

Tottenham Hotspur Chairman, Daniel Levy, stated that Harry Redknapp was the only guy who could take Spurs forward.

Only two games into Harry’s tenure, and our side are already looking to have recouped their confidence.

4-2 down, away at the Emirates, and with the final whistle approaching, Harry never stopped barking encouragement to his players, geeing them on to push forward.

Tottenham did just that. Bentley’s goal has to be a contender for “Goal of the Season”, but don’t take anything away from the Jenas strike that added the impetus for us to progress onto winning a much deserved point.

We were all in a packed out pub watching the match. What a lot of us found strange, was that many of the Arsenal fans left when they were up 4-2.

Then it came; Modric’s shot that smacked the bar. It was like time had slowed down. For Spurs fans, it was hearts in mouths time.

Little Azza, sweet as you like, came in from the shadows to knock the ball past the line.

We were in the same pub for the Villa & Chelsea 4-4 draws, but never have I seen such rupture, such commotion. It will be a night that I will personally remember for a long, long time.

Bring on Liverpool!

Final Score: Tottenham Hotspur 2 – 0 Bolton

Harry Redknapp, Tottenham’s new manager, oversaw a first league win of the season for the Lilywhites.

Roman Pavlyuchenko, who got onto the end of a David Bentley cross, scored a perfect header.

The side still look like they lack confidence, but the performance the players gave was much improved. After watching the game today, it’s obvious that Ramos had lost the dressing room.

Harry got the side playing, especially Modric, who was popping up all over the pitch, making passes, showing good movement, and looking like a great player.

Bolton saw a player sent off in the second half and could not hold Spurs back, especially after Darren Bent tucked away a penalty, making it 2 – 0.

Harry Redknapp still has a massive task on his hands, but at least he has got the club its first win of the season, and hopefully the players can gain confidence from today’s win.

I also found it interesting that Ledley King played. Only two weeks ago, Ramos, stated that King can only play once every 2 to 3 weeks. Maybe we shouldn’t be reading anything into this, but King did play on Thursday against Udinese. Also, The Times columnist, Gab Marcotti, has stated that King’s injury is down to the Ramos regime. Unfortunately, Marcotti never expanded on that statement. Let’s hope that our captain can become a permanent fixture in the side.

COYS!!!
